ABOUT TĂȘULEASA SOCIAL ASSOCIATION
Tășuleasa Social Association is a non-governmental organization based on the border between Bistrița-Năsăud and Suceava counties, founded in 2000 by Alin Uhlmann Ușeriu. In 2025, we celebrated 25 years of activity, a milestone of organizational maturity rarely reached in Romania.
Over the years, more than 130,000 volunteers have joined us, launching environmental, social, cultural and sports projects together. People are the ones who have kept our mission alive.
For the Tășuleasa Social Association, the most important values are volunteering, social responsibility, organizational culture, respect for nature, education, and the development of reciprocity and civic courage among young people through their involvement in social and environmental causes. Over more than 25 years of activity, Tășuleasa Social has become, above all, a school of volunteering, in a society where the meaning of this word is still often unclear.
These core values are also reflected in the sporting events organized by Tibi Ușeriu along the Via Transilvanica trail, where endurance, discipline, and team spirit are celebrated alongside the dedication of volunteers. Through all the events held on the trail, participants not only test their physical limits but also fully experience the spirit of volunteering. Each event becomes a true classroom, inspiring young people to engage actively, while developing resilience, solidarity, and a deep respect for nature—the same principles that have guided Tășuleasa Social for over 25 years.

ABOUT VIA TRANSILVANICA
Via Transilvanica is a trail that connects people and communities, celebrating the country’s spectacular nature and unique heritage. It is a journey for body, mind, and soul, helping you discover authentic Romania while generating a lasting social impact for those living along the route.
Via Transilvanica is the most ambitious project of the Tășuleasa Social Association to date: Romania’s first long-distance trail, currently stretching over 1,600 km.
Beginning in the northeast of the country, crossing Transylvania, and reaching the blue Danube in the southwest, Via Transilvanica maior represents the main artery of the route. Starting in 2025, the Tășuleasa Social Association launched a 20-year expansion plan, which includes alternative routes connecting all of Romania’s historical regions. The first such route leads to the city of Brașov and forms the eighth region: Terra Borza Teutonica.
Via Transilvanica maior and Terra Borza Teutonica together represent eight cultural-historical regions, ethnically diverse, and include 12 UNESCO World Heritage Sites, allowing hikers, cyclists, and riders to discover Romania through slow tourism, in an authentic and varied natural and cultural setting.
